What Makes a Passive “Rainbow” Tier?
Regular passive skills in Palworld fall into normal tiers — small stat boosts you can find on wild Pals or breed in fairly easily. Rainbow passives sit above all of that. They carry stronger, cleaner bonuses with no built-in drawback, and almost all of them only appear on a Pal hatched from a Mutated Egg. Once one exists on a Pal you own, you can breed it down onto your other Pals just like any other passive — the hard part is getting the first copy.

A couple of these deserve extra context. Babysitter currently appears to boost speed only for the specific Pal assigned to a standard Breeding Farm, not the Ancient Hatchery, and its effect doesn’t seem to stack base-wide — treat it as a per-farm boost for now. Lavish Hospitality only triggers while its Pal is actively summoned in your party, so it won’t help loot drops from your other party members. How to Actually Get a Rainbow Passive

- Use the Relic Recycler. This structure converts Ancient Civilization Relics into disposable implants that can carry a mutation passive onto any Pal via the Surgery Table, without needing a fresh mutation roll.
- Breed it forward. Once a rainbow passive exists on one of your Pals, pass it down through standard breeding using a Special Cake to raise the odds of it inheriting cleanly.
Which Rainbow Passive Should You Chase First?
If you’re only farming for one to start, go for Babysitter. It doesn’t help in a fight, but it directly speeds up every mutation attempt after it, which compounds over your entire breeding project. Are rainbow passives the same as World Tree passives?
No. World Tree passives are a separate new tier found only on Pals caught in the World Tree region, and every one of them carries a built-in drawback alongside its bonus. Rainbow passives come from Mutated Eggs and generally have no downside.
Can I breed a rainbow passive onto any Pal?
Yes, once you have a Pal carrying one, you can pass it to compatible offspring through normal breeding, the same way any other passive skill inherits.
Do rainbow passives work with Birds of a Feather?
Current community testing indicates mutation-exclusive passives do not combine with Yakumo’s Birds of a Feather passive, so plan your inheritance stack accordingly.
